It was a lazy weekend and we were preparing dinner for guests, as they were invited for a grand dinner at our place. Meal we were preparing was traditional food that we had to eat at night. I was super hungry as I didn’t eat anything since morning because of being busy with cooking and other house chores. Therefore I decided to cook quick and heavy pasta, Mac & Cheese. Ingredients

200 grams elbow macaroni

2 teaspoons all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon chili flakes

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon chicken powder

Mozzarella cheese (as per requirement)

Cheddar cheese (as per requirement)

2 cups milk

2 tablespoons butter

200 grams boneless chicken

1 tablespoon soya sauce

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 tablespoon chili sauce

2 teaspoon chicken tikka powder

1 tablespoon corn flour

How to Make Mac & Cheese

Marination of Chicken: Take boneless chicken and cut it into small chunks. Marinate it with soya sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, chicken tikka powder and corn flour. Keep it marinated for at least half an hour.

Cooking Chicken: Take 2 tsp oil in a pan and add marinated chicken, cover and let it cook until chicken becomes soft and juicy. Keep changing the sides.

Boiling Macaroni: In another pan take 2 tsp of butter, melt it and add 2 tsp of all purpose flour. Roast it until golden brown. Add chicken powder, salt, chili flakes and black pepper according to taste and then add milk in it. Add uncooked elbow macaroni in prepared milk and let it boil in milk. Cover and let it cook for 6 to 7 minutes.

Adding Cheese: Add grated cheddar and mozzarella cheese in large quantities and cover it again. Keep it in low flame and let it cook until you feel creamy and saucy texture with macaroni completely boiled. Time to turn off the flame.

Dish Out and Serve: Dish out Mac n cheese with garnishing of onion leaves and chicken chunks on one side. Ready to serve now!

Pro tips

  • Chicken chunks are optional for garnishing.
  • Adjust spices according to your taste.
